RGI EVENTS CASE STUDIES

José Andrés’ World Central Kitchen Dine N’ Dash

Celebrity Chef and Humanitarian icon José Andrés, enlisted RGI events to support one of DCs most anticipated events of the year- his annual culinary event, Dine N' Dash benefiting his nonprofit World Central Kitchen.

This dine around style block party takes place at over three dozen individual locations spread through the entire city welcoming the culinary elite alongside policy stars raising crucial funds for his humanitarian support across the globe. It’s 6,000 tickets sell out in a matter of days.

WHAT WE DID:
Full-Service Event Planning // Event Production // Staffing + Supplier Management // Event Design // Event Management and Strategy // Onsite Execution

RGI’s scope included guest registration and attendee management, press solicitation, event marketing, staff recruitment and management, venue and partner management, entertainment, print materials, food and beverage coordination, and much more for each individual activation across the city simultaneously - but first up was a VIP pre-party for 400.

RGI brainstormed 4 floors worth of custom builds, activations, interactive programming experiences and thematic yet authentic food and beverage at ‘Puerto Rico House’ in partnership with the Tourism Board of Puerto Rico.

Our favorite aspects included an 8 foot diameter paella station cooked live in front of guests and spooned as samples as they entered the event 1 an oversize vinyl decal covering the entire second floor in the shape of the island showing vital statistics, locations of kitchens and a timeline of humanitarian efforts - a gallery wall with pictures and quotes from beneficiaries of the programs in Puerto Rico – and a pop up food hall on the fourth floor recreating the food truck park Andrés and company ran in San Juan complete with 6 truck facades from which attendants served from truck ‘windows’ recreations of traditional dishes.

BY THE NUMBERS

  • 6,000 attendees

  • 150 volunteers

  • 39 individual activations

  • 39 individual venues

  • VIP pre-party with 4 floors worth of custom builds

  • 1 wonderful VIP after-party

As the event wound to a close, we opened doors at the MGM sponsored DND After Party. MGM brought RGI onboard independently to create a fine art driven replication of this local resort’s gaming, and food and beverage offerings as a pop-up at Signature Theater.

In addition to gaming tables, signature drinks and desserts, we created an artist station where our artist painted an oversize live rendering of the event in real-time as it was happening – which was latter repurposed as an exhibit at the resort.

Got an events logistics monster and need an event slayer?
