U.S. Army Ten-Miler
We came. We saw.
We coordinated!
With over 35,000 runners from all around the world, the Army Ten-Miler is the largest race in the Washington, D.C. area and the second-largest ten-mile race in the country, and we have been honored to produce this race since 2017.
From the load-in, which spans a continuous 60 hours, until the first runners begin to arrive at the Pentagon imprint at 5 a.m. on race day, through strike – taking nearly 18-hours from the time the North lot reopens at 1 p.m…
It might be a 10 mile race for the runners, but it’s a MARATHON for our team who stays laser focused on ensuring the infrastructure necessary for an event this size and scale is seamlessly constructed and artfully executed.
SETUP BY THE NUMBERS
12 months of planning
800 tables
300 portapotties
210 tents
100’s of banners and signage
50 generators
6 stages
5 miles of cabling

// Laying Down the Law
The route itself is full of curious permitting hoops to jump through in order to ensure safety and security for runners as they wind through this historic and high security area – and coordinating cooperation among these groups in the production process is no small feat when it comes to production! Beginning on Route 110 and running through jurisdictional districts of half a dozen different law enforcement agencies, including
Pentagon Police
Secret Service
Metropolitan Police
Arlington County Police
and the National Park Service
// Crossing the Finish Line!
The scale and scope of the supplier team necessary to create the event are mind-boggling. The list above doesn’t even scratch the surface of the logistical symphony we must orchestrate to pull off this project in full crescendo. The strategic coordination and expert knowledge it takes to artfully build infrastructure is enough to exhaust before we even get to the race itself! It’s an event we look forward to every year, and we wouldn’t have it any other way!
